BY 50 AND ME
Join us for an amazing 4 day ladies adventure to Vic Falls from 13 to 17 May 2022.
13 May 2022
On arrival in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe side, clear customs and collect luggage. We will be met by our representative and transferred by road to Victoria Falls Town (approx 20 mins) and onward to our accommodation at Pioneers Guest Lodge (Bed & Breakfast).
Pioneer Lodge or “Pioneers” is a short 2.5 km from the magical Victoria Falls, and situated in a peaceful residential suburb. Set in lush gardens with beautifully manicured lawns, this fifty room lodge is a great option for those who value comfort and elegance. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated in a classic style, and each has a clear and open view of the garden. As well as comfortable furniture, multi plugs and good lighting, they all feature air-conditioners, fans, room safes, mosquito nets and tea/coffee making facilities. Each room has its own bathroom en-suite with shower, toilet and a double vanity unit. The heart of “Pioneers” Lodge is the centrally located main area. The layout and classic décor here is extremely welcoming with a serene and stylish lounge which is airy and comfortable.
Conservation and preservation of the environment are so important, and Pioneers is committed to being Environmentally Friendly. Carefully placed solar panels are used to harness the power of the sun and covert it to clean energy. Although not totally off the grid yet, most of the lodge runs off solar energy, backed up by generator as a contingency. Pioneers also supports local wildlife charities in aid of conservation, anti-poaching, essential research and anti-litter projects, all of which operate in the Victoria Falls region.
After checking in to our accommodation, it’s time to freshen up before we are transferred to the river to enjoy a Luxury Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River in the Zambezi Explorer.
Pure Africa’s re-imagined River Cruises bring a new level of sophistication to Victoria Falls, with our Sunset Cruise onboard our flagship vessel the Zambezi Explorer, the most popular offering.
Of the three decks onboard, the ‘Signature Deck’ on the uppermost level for pure extravagance with gourmet hors d’oeuvres and premium beverages served by a dedicated mixologist as you cruise the waterways on your Sunset Cruise.
After our Sunset Cruise, we will return to the lodge for overnight stay.
First Silent Book Club starts in the lounge. Come choose a book and let’s read.

This morning, for those that wish to, we will explore and appreciate the sights, sounds and feel of the “The Smoke That Thunders” on our own. There is nothing quite like the heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of these magnificent falls and being drenched by the never ending spray.
The heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of the precipice above the raging Zambezi waters is something quite unforgettable. Spray from the pounding water rises more than 60 feet into the air before tumbling down to create 24 hours of solid rain.
The Falls are literally at the end of the main street through the town centre. Of course the ever present ‘Smoke’ (rising spray) will very soon have you orientated as to its location. It is a very walkable distance from town centre although it can be hot so take water with you.
For those who want to do other adrenaline-filled activities in the area, this is your chance.
We can help you pre-book all your activities.
See the pricing for the optional extra activities on offer at the bottom of this itinerary.
Our meeting point for a casual lunch is the Lookout Cafe. Enjoy watching the activities or bring along your book and enjoy our L.A.T. Silent Book Club space with your favourite beverage in hand.
Perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, this open air cafe is one of the favourites in Victoria Falls. Spectacular views of the gorges and Zambezi River below plus so much more, make the Lookout a special place for more than just a meal. The Lookout Café is an iconic restaurant in Victoria Falls where casual dining is a decadent affair. There is a good variety of antelope including waterbuck, impala and sable.
Exploring the vast genuine wilderness of the Zambezi National Park, these drives set off either in the early morning or mid-afternoon. Using an open four-wheel drive vehicle, the game drive allows the guests to discover many interpretations of the bush and all its inhabitants, related to them by our suitable trained and qualified guides. This is an uncontrived bush experience, covering a genuinely wild, unfenced wilderness area. The Zambezi National Park is only a five minute drive from Victoria Falls town, so there are no lengthy transfers involved.
The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy all that Vic Falls has to offer. There is time to do any other activities on offer in this
adrenaline-packed region of Africa. Scheduled Vic Falls Town transfers will be arranged for our group.

Our ever-popular sunset cruise offers a unique way to explore the channels of the river and to get an up-close view of the pristine wilderness and African game along its banks. Enjoy an array of canapés, a full bar and a charming crew who can impart a bit of interesting Victoria Falls history with you on board the Ra-Ikane.
